Golf Day 20 March and Business Lunch 19 June
‘Inclusion is our game Project’ 2019
For the past four years, HBCF has grown a strong partnership with Melbourne University. Annually a team of university students immerses itself in H’ Bay’s sporting culture to grow opportunities for participants with special needs.
A flow on effects from this is HBCF sees inspiring grant applications from groups that follow the lead of the Inclusion Project. Notable grant recipients this year include Bloom, a program aiming to provide soccer skills for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Williamstown Cricket Club’s All Abilities team – who will enter next year’s structured competition. Last year HBCF funded the Sporting Network of Autistic People and Parents (SNAPP) and CONGS Cricket Club that ran a program with 28 kids (23 with Autism). It was so successful that parents of the 5 Neuro Typical children didn’t know the others were Autistic. This proves that a little funding can have a big impact.
The ability to influence positive community outcomes through making a difference to the lives of people living locally is the what the Hobsons Bay Community Fund is all about – building the kind of future we want.
